I was going to write something profound or wittily amusing about this shot and its special place in this arachnid series, but frankly that's way too pretentious and anyway I don't feel like it. I'd much rather make a comment about the state of television in this country.
I don't watch much TV. Pretty close to none...but not quite. I do find myself watching that piece of furniture every once in an while. Like this evening, for example. My wife and I watched part of the Emmy Awards. Conan O Brien (or however you spell his name) was pretty damn funny. I could easily watch an hour and a half of just him hamming it up. And some of the presenters were hilarious. Like Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Funny.
But the competition itself didn't do much for me. Until the category called something like Best Reality Competition Show. Yes. Best Reality Competition Show. Out of the hundreds of thousands of reality shows, there are actually 5 really good one. These 5 vie for the top slot. The creme de la creme. I bet you're wondering which one it was. Well let me tell you I was sooooo excited when Amazing Race won. Wow. And it's (evidently) the fourth year in a row.
