"My mother, Lupe, has been and continues to be my inspiration and most influential person in my life. She has been an exemplary figure of faith, hope and love. She has taught me to believe in God and to place my trust in Him. As the 20th and last child to be born she has endured many trials in her childhood and as an adult. She has always had a stronghold on her hopes and dreams. Her love never fails her family despite the struggles she has encountered. My mother is a kind and loving person willing to extend a helping hand even if she is left without. She is a person I can count on when I need a shoulder to cry on or words of wisdom and encouragement. She has taught me to be strong no matter what obstacles I face in life and to have a cheerful heart. My mother and I are best friends and I wouldn't want it any other way. I hope to follow in her footsteps."
