This planet has been around for 8 billion years. It has seen ice ages, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, hurricanes; it has provided a home for countless millions of amazing species to thrive. Whole life forms have come and gone and been replaced with completely new ones. And now...now this amazing place is home to billions of cars and mile upon mile of power lines and Wal-Marts and the occasional duck or bush or mosquito.
If I was the earth, I'd be pissed.
