You have to wonder about the people who gave Greenland its name. I mean, how insanely icy and blisteringly white does it have to be for people to give the name "Greenland" to a place that looks like this?
For us, it was a serendipitous discovery. We had just finished watching The Chronicles of Narnia - a story set largely in the ice-bound hell of the White Witch - when Eva cracked her window shade open a bit and let out an, "Oh!" We all peered over her shoulder and did the same.
Then we shut the shade and sat back in the dark gloom of the flight, blinking and seeing stars.
