"I admire Katherine Switzer because she was the first female to officially run the 1967 Boston Marathon. One of the officials tried to pull Switzer from the race because women were banned from running, and it was believed that women were not physiologically able to run such distances. She finished the race in 4 hours 20 minutes."
March is Women's History Month. To celebrate and honor women, I'm posting a different woman's photograph each day during March and on into April.
