We saw the The Shelter at the Odyssey Theatre in L.A. It was very good. If you're in L.A. next week, run, don't walk, and go watch and listen and feel it take you through a rollercoaster of emotions and ideas and people, from despair to delight; quixotic to quasimodo; hilarity to humanity.
And if your night goes as ours did, after the show you'll swing by the San Francisco Saloon & Grille with our friend Jay Alvarez who so deftly and with such energetic timing not to mention sheer wit plays the role of TOOTSIE; and then you'll talk with the actors and have a drink or two; and then you'll watch a couple of women accidently reverse their Honda Civic into one of the actor's parked motorbikes.
You could just tell from their scowly looks that they knew they were wrong, but they wouldn't admit it! They tried to pin it on the actor, Terence J. Rotolo, who stoutly plays the role of WRESTLER! Feh. So the cops were called in. They agreed with Mr. Rotolo. The scowly women scowled some more. Hey, accidents happen. But if it's your fault, admit it and get on with your life.
Let's hope the insurance gods smile kindly upon Terence, pictured here next to his fallen bike.
